Trans Health Group Clinics
Same affirming care, rooted in community.
Join us for our March 2026 Trans Health Group Clinic
Trans Health Group Clinic (THGC) is a community-centered space for trans/GNC people to discuss and learn about gender-affirming care in a confidential group setting. Additionally, attendees will have access to gender-affirming care services such as one-on-one time with a nurse practitioner, routine blood testing, blood pressure reading, and routine hormone therapy.
For many who are invested or interested in gender-affirming care, grassroots community is necessary for finding trustworthy and reliable care resources. THGC integrates our hormone therapy services into a space that fosters community growth and amplifies individual perspectives.

Next THGC date: Saturday, March 21st from 12pm-2pm
Where: Chicago Women’s Health Center, 1025 W. Sunnyside Ave, Suite 201
What to expect: THGC is structured around group discussions and educational activities. Group discussion will be guided by the questions and interests of willing participants. Discussion topics can include:
Navigating pharmacies/insurances and accessing affirmative care
Techniques and methods for self-injection
Resources for social, medical, and/or surgical transition
Talking to family about HRT
The educational activities are designed for skill development relative to gender-affirming care. These skills range from self-advocacy in healthcare settings to learning to take one’s own blood pressure.
Periodically during THGC, clients who have opted in for time with the nurse practitioner will be invited into a different room to receive individualized care and routine blood work.
How to sign-up: If you are interested in joining us, please fill out this form. If you are only interested in group discussion and activities, filling out this form is all we’ll need. If you are interested in time with the nurse practitioner, blood work, or hormone therapy services, we will contact you prior to the Group Clinic to gather further medical history through our intake process.
Our intake process for clients not using insurance will require a simple phone call. For clients who would like to use their insurance, our intake process includes a complementary in-person intake visit at CWHC.
About Trans Health Group Clinics at CWHC
How do I know if a Trans Health Group Clinic is right for me? What is the eligibility to join this group?
We are interested in hearing from clients who…
Are at least 18 years old.
Are able to attend in-person appointments in Chicago.
Have taken estrogen or testosterone gender-affirming hormone therapy (also known as GAHT or HRT) for any length of time.
Are interested in starting HRT.
This group is a fit for clients who…
Are comfortable discussing topics related to HRT or GAHT in a confidential group setting of up to 10 people.
Are comfortable receiving medical services – like having your blood pressure taken - in a confidential group setting.
Want to share a care community with other trans, non-binary, and/or gender-expansive people.
Trans Health Group Clinics may also qualify for clients as a substitute for a routine hormone therapy visit, depending on a client’s medical history. If you want to get your annual blood draw and connect with other members of your community in doing so, THGC may be a good fit!
If this sounds like you, please fill out this Interest Form.
What is a group clinic?
A group clinic is a community oriented health care appointment where multiple clients are seen at the same time by a healthcare provider, while also receiving education and community support.
Do I have to attend every session?
No. You may attend as many or as few sessions as you like.
Can I use my insurance?
Group clinic visits can be covered by insurance. Coverage depends on your individual plan. We are in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO, Humana PPO, and United Healthcare PPO plans. To ensure that visits are covered, please contact your insurance company.
How much does the Group Clinic cost without insurance?
The sliding scale cost of group visits for self-pay clients is $50-10. Clients will be responsible for payment of any labs run during a Group Clinic.
The price of lab work depends on a client's medication, but prices typically vary from $35-15. If you want to know how much your labs will cost, give us a call or email us here.
However, no one is turned away based on their ability to pay!
