Communications & Volunteer Coordinator

Are you passionate about communications and reproductive justice? Are you interested in leading a dedicated group of volunteers? Apply to be our new Communications and Volunteer Coordinator! 

The Communications and Volunteer Coordinator (CVC) is part of CWHC’s Development Team and works across programs to amplify CWHC’s services. This role builds connections to CWHC’s programs and mission by working closely with other staff and by representing CWHC in Chicago communities. This is a full-time, hybrid role.

Counseling Internships

CWHC's Counseling Program accepts applications for 2nd year masters-level clinical counseling interns each January. Applications for the 2026-2027 academic year will be accepted from January 9 to January 25, 2026. Submit your completed application to counselorhiring@chicagowomenshealthcenter.org.

Counseling interns receive training and support in providing counseling from a feminist-relational perspective. Counseling interns provide individual, partners, and group counseling services.   

Counseling at CWHC is provided from a feminist-relational perspective, and the values of client self-determination and empowerment are seen as an integral part of the therapeutic relationship. Essential to this position is a commitment to anti-oppressive practices and racial, gender and disability justice. Hours are flexible, and we work Monday-Friday. Students must be available on Fridays from 9am-12:30pm for trainings and supervision.

Internships are open to second-year Master's social work, counseling, or clinical mental health students with relevant experiences such as: direct service provision, crisis hotline work, community organizing, case-management, or other advocacy work. Applicants will demonstrate critical self-reflexivity and humility. Prior experience with trans and gender non-conforming / gender-expansive / queer folks, and Black, Indigenous, and people of color communities is preferred.
