Board of Directors

CWHC’s Board of Directors is charged with furthering our mission, securing philanthropic support for our work, and being an ambassador for us in the communities that we serve and beyond.

 

LaKetta Montague
Board Chair

LaKetta joined the Board in 2018 with a background in pharmaceutical drug development and Eastern Medicine. She has a passion for holistic and preventive health care and dreams of fair access to all. In previous years, she has worked on non-profit boards centered on equitable housing and education.

Ana Bermudez
Board Vice Chair

Born in Guatemala City, Ana has been a client at CWHC for over 17 years and is currently serving her second term as a board member. Ana has a background in community development, marketing and communications in the nonprofit sector. In addition to her commitment to community service, Ana enjoys traveling the world and supporting the arts.

Abby Koppers
Board Finance Chair

Abby (she/her) works in the Enterprise Analytics department at CVS Health. Her interests include cooking, baking, being outdoors, and smashing the patriarchy.

 

Lisette Arzuga

Lisette Arzuaga (she/they) is a native Chicagoan with roots on the Northwest side of the city, where her family settled after migrating from Puerto Rico in the 1970s. Most recently she has worked with community-based nonprofits building collective power through grassroots fundraising and resource development. She loves crossword puzzles and lavender oat milk lattes.

Amali Dabarera

Amali Dabarera specializes in non-profit management. She moved from Sri Lanka to the US to pursue her higher education and completed her Master's degree in International Public Service at DePaul University. She has more than 10 years of professional experience, from small-scale to large-scale non-profit organizations.

Tiffani Darling

Tiffani Darling (she/hers) has more than two decades of service working to improve the patient and family experiences in healthcare, and helping organizations provide person centered care. She completed her Masters in Non-Profit Administration from the University of Notre Dame. Her interests include spending time with her wife, family and friends, crossfit, running, hiking, and music.

 

Taylor Klassman

Taylor is a User Experience Researcher at a research company in Chicago, where she studies how humans think and work to make their lives easier. She has a background in non-profit research specifically in the education and juvenile justice space. Taylor is mom to a budding feminist, reads as much fiction as she possibly can, and you can find her biking around town with her wife.

Lydia Karch

Lydia Karch was raised an obligatory Packers fan in Appleton, Wisconsin, and is a graduate of the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. She has experience working with nonprofits in the fields of sexual and reproductive health, harm reduction, and housing and homelessness. She currently works in overdose prevention with the Cook County Department of Public Health (CCDPH). In her free time Lydia enjoys feminist comedy podcasts, the X-Men, and dodging both moving and parked cars in the bike lanes.

Angela Morris

Angela first became involved with CWHC as an outreach education volunteer over 15 years ago. Throughout her career in health care, she has been (and continues to be) a strong advocate for Women’s health, reproductive health, and access to services for all.

 

Monica Paulson

Monica Paulson (she/her) has spent her career supporting community groups and social justice minded nonprofits with a focus on grassroots community organizing, reproductive rights, immigrant rights, and access to care. She is deeply inspired by CWHC’s collaborative approach and commitment to healthcare access regardless of ability to pay.

 

Natasha Wasinski

Natasha is an experienced non-profit fundraiser and journalist currently managing business communications for a global corporation. She is passionate about volunteerism and advocacy, particularly as it relates to human rights, freedom of the press, and women's and children's health. Natasha holds a dual degree in communications and international studies from Loyola University Chicago.

Andrea Slattery

Andrea Slattery has a management consulting background and significant healthcare consulting and accreditation experience. Her work with healthcare organizations around the world has focused on providing quality care and improving patient, employee, and visitor safety in all settings. She is passionate about health education and providing equitable care to all people.

 

Betsy Whitis

Betsy received her Master's degree in Nonprofit Management from DePaul University and has worked in nonprofits for over a decade, primarily in the education sector. She is the co-founder and former vice-chair of Cleveland Verses Foundation and is eager to serve as an advocate for women in the city she loves.

Tameka Walton

Tameka studied Public Policy at DePaul University, and went on to work in the field of nonprofit administration and development.  She is the founder of an organization that focuses on Black women's health and mental wellness with a focus on mothers, she enjoys teaching yoga, baking and watching her children grow.

CWHC Overview for Potential Board Members

Members of CWHC’s Board of Directors provide financial support and oversight in addition to advocacy on behalf of CWHC. Board members bring important perspectives to organization- wide conversations and contribute individual skills to strengthen CWHC’s capacity and further its goals.
