Alexan Martin-Eichner, LMT
Integrative Health Partner

Alexan Martin-Eichner, LMT (they/them) offers massage therapy services every Thursday from 9:30am to 4pm. To schedule an appointment, please call our front desk at (773) 935-6126. Alexan’s services are available to new and existing clients.

Alexan incorporates techniques from traditional Thai massage, traditional Chinese massage (Tui Na), and common spa modalities (Swedish, Deep Tissue), and their overall approach to treatment is based on lineage instruction in Traditional Thai Medicine and Traditional Chinese Medicine. This includes accessory therapies like cupping and scraping (gua sha).

They have a holistic client-centered approach that begins by soothing symptoms and empowering the client's own knowledge, and continues with mutual education and treatment of root causes. They're passionate about supporting those with chronic illness, chronic pain, trauma, hyper-mobility, and dysphoria, and they value body-positivity and gender-affirming care.

About Alexan

Alexan first encountered traditional medical bodywork from two sides: as part of their journey to manage their chronic pain, and as part of their path of spiritual practice. After seeing the benefits in their own life, and seeing the need for healing within their communities, they were motivated to pursue bodywork as a vocation. They received their formal education at the Pacific College of Health and Science's Tui Na (traditional Chinese medical massage) program, and have deepened their practice in continuing education with lineage teachers. Their background in meditation instruction, yoga, Sociology, and mutual aid also informs their bodywork.

Sliding Scale + Appointment Information

Alexan will offer 105-minute first time appointments and 90-minute return appointments for massage therapy sessions. Both will be available on a sliding scale of $120-$70. No one will be turned away based on their ability to pay.

For questions about payment, please contact the Integrative Health Program Coordinator, Kaylie Engel, via email.

What to Expect

For first time appointments, please arrive 10-15 minutes before your appointment begins to fill out intake paperwork.

All the initial sessions will be done over clothing and on a floor mat, so it is best to wear loose, flexible, comfortable clothing to your appointment. Techniques may include rocking, joint movement, compressions, stretches, hot steamed compresses, or abdominal massage.

Later sessions could also include therapies on bare skin that require some undressing and draping, like use of herbal balms/liniments, oils, cupping, and gua sha. Later sessions will also include self-care recommendations.
