From Jess, with gratitude
Posted on March 31
As I wrap up my last day here as Director, I am filled with gratitude. I never imagined the journey I would take when I walked into Chicago Women’s Health Center 16 years ago, and I cannot imagine a better one. This organization practices love and radical acceptance as a form of social justice, and holds its integrity through each and every step of its growth. I have had the incredible opportunity to help shape this place, its work, and our important changes, but more than that, I have had the opportunity to be shaped by this work into who I am today. I am so grateful for it.
It has been an honor to spend the last five years as Director, and I am so proud of all that we have accomplished. I am proud of this incredibly strong team, this beautiful collective that constantly holds a mirror up to itself and challenges itself to do better. And I am proud and humbled to follow in a long line of collective members who set the stage for the growth we have achieved.
And now I sincerely look forward to joining you in the larger community of CWHC. You, our supporters, our partners, our clients and friends, who support our mission in countless ways and who truly make our vision possible. This organization is poised for more exciting growth ahead, and I am thrilled to continue to support it from the sidelines.
As you know, the search for the new Executive Director is well underway! We have a strong transition plan in place; Leslie Fiedler, MPH, our Clinical Services Director, is serving as Interim Director, and you can contact A.J. Barks, our Development Director, with any questions at firstname.lastname@example.org.
P.S. Clearly I’m in love with this place. And I’m going to show it by turning my annual donation into a monthly donation. FOREVER. Want to join me?! ;)
