CWHC says farewell to Hannah Figa, intern extraordinare
Posted on September 4
CWHC was incredibly lucky to have Hannah Figa as our summer intern. This incredible young person blew us out of the water with her maturity, work effort, creativity, and dedication to our mission. We wish her nothing but the best as she starts her sophomore year at Haverford, and we are proud to feature her as our Volunteer of the (belated) month for August/September.
How did you hear about CWHC?
1. I had heard about CWHC through a family friend (Terri Kapsalis), and, months later, while searching for summer internships, realized that CWHC has exactly the environment, mission, and staff with which I wanted to work.I also work at the Women's Center at my college (Haverford College), and I wanted to continue work with similar issues outside of the academic environment.
What was your favorite project at CWHC?
2. My favorite project so far at CWHC was tabling at Pitchfork Music Festival. It was a blast to gush about the wonderfulness of CWHC to receptive festival-goers with experience of how the office and clinic works. Further, it felt incredible to have the opportunity to speak with people about something I've become so passionate about.
What do you do doing the school year?
3. I work at my college's Women's Center, am part of a video sketch comedy group, sit on the Residential Life committee, and eat a lot of ramen/easymac. Next year I will be living on a freshmen hall as a sophomore orientation leader, and I'm super pumped to meet my orientation group!
What else should we know about you?
4. A little fact about me is that I had curly, puffy, frizzy hair down to my waist for most of my life, but I now happily wear approximately the same amount of hair on my head with which I was born.
