Gynecology
Chicago Women's Health Center has been offering high quality, sensitive, accessible and affordable gynecological services since 1975. Our unique style of care involves an all woman staff, longer appointments (1/2 hour and 1 hour time slots), emphasis on preventive and self care, education about and referrals for alternative care, and sliding scale fees for clients who do not have insurance or are underinsured. We will also bill PPO and Medicaid PPO insurance for visits.
Our gynecology program specializes in providing sensitive and respectful care. We serve all heterosexual, lesbian, bisexual and queer women and trans individuals who were female assigned at birth regardless of income, age, race, ability, or religion. We are committed to working with all of our clients to provide care that respects individuals' relationships with their bodies.
We offer the following services:
- Annual gynecological exams (including pap smears and breast exam)
- Emergency contraception
- Cervical cap and diaphragm fitting
- Birth control counseling
- Pregnancy testing
- Vaginal infection checks
- Urinary tract infection checks
- STD screening
- Abnormal pap follow-up
We are currently not able to provide care to trans people who were male assigned at birth or who have had genital sex reassignment surgery, or intersex individuals; please call for referrals.
