Gynecology
CWHC has been offering high quality, sensitive, accessible and affordable gynecological services since 1975. Our unique style of care involves an all woman staff, longer appointments (half hour and one hour time slots), emphasis on preventive and self care, education about and referrals for alternative care, and sliding scale fees for clients who do not have insurance or are underinsured. We will also bill PPO and Medicaid PPO insurance for visits.
Our gynecology program specializes in providing sensitive and respectful care. We serve all heterosexual, lesbian, bisexual and queer women and transmasculine, butch and genderqueer individuals regardless of income, age, race, ability, or religion. We are committed to working with all of our clients to provide care that respects individuals' relationships with their bodies.
We offer the following services:
- Annual gynecological exams (including pap smears and breast exam)
- Emergency contraception
- Cervical cap and diaphragm fitting
- Birth control counseling
- Pregnancy testing
- Vaginal infection checks
- Urinary tract infection checks
- STD screening
- Abnormal pap follow-up

Transmasculine clients may request an appointment with a provider trained to provide care to trans people.
We are committed to serving the trans communities to our greatest ability. As our gynecological program continues to explore the ways we can best serve the trans communities, we encourage transmasculine clients who have had genital sex reassignment surgery and intersex individuals to call us to discuss their individual health needs before scheduling an appointment. Please call the Clinical Services Director at 773.935.6126 x 222. We are currently unable to provide gynecological care to trans-feminine individuals. Please call for referrals.
