Billing and Coding Specialist

CWHC is looking for the newest member of our Administrative Committee. The Billing & Coding Specialist is responsible for the management and execution of the billing systems and necessary follow-up, with an emphasis on insurance billing. The Billing and Coding Specialist works with protected health information and is required to work with discretion and in compliance with HIPAA regulations. The position supports the financial health of the organization, in close collaboration with the Finance and Administration Coordinator (FAC). The Billing & Coding Specialist works closely with CWHC’s program Directors, Coordinators and program committees to ensure administrative protocols and procedures are responsive to and supportive of service provision.

Advanced Practice Nurse

Are you a feminist nurse practitioner? Would you like to be part of a client-centered health care model that allows longer visits with an emphasis on prevention and health education? CWHC has pioneered client-centered care for the past 40 plus years and is looking for a like-minded Advanced Practice Nurse to join us!

The Advanced Practice Nurse’s focus will be to provide direct primary care to clients, including addressing mental health concerns within primary care visits and in collaboration with Counseling and Integrative Health Services. Additionally, practitioners will work with a team of health educators and volunteer physicians to provide care in the areas of gynecology, transgender hormone therapy and alternative insemination. We hope you will provide leadership to support our primary care services and Nurse Practitioner model. This position may require being accessible by phone after business hours on a limited basis.

Internship Opportunities


Counseling interns receive training and support in providing counseling from a feminist-relational perspective and will provide individual, couples, and group counseling services. Counselors at CWHC value client self-determination as an integral part of the therapeutic relationship. Click here to learn more about CWHC's Counseling Program.

Internships are open to second-year Masters social work or counseling students and fourth-year PsyD students with relevant experiences, such as direct service provision, crisis hotline work, community organizing, case-management, or other advocacy work. Applicants will demonstrate critical self-reflexivity and humility. Prior experience with TGNC/Gender Expansive, queer, and People of Color communities preferred. Applicants must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills; and demonstrate a commitment to developing assessment, therapeutic, and crisis intervention skills. Women of color, LGBTQ individuals, and people with disabilities are encouraged to apply. The ideal applicant aligns with Counseling Committee’s values of anti-oppressive practice and racial, gender, and disability justice.

Counseling Internship applications for Masters candidates will be accepted between January 2, 2020 and January 31, 2020. Those invited to complete the second round of application process will be notified in February through a rolling interview process. Internship will begin July 27, 2020 and end in June or July of 2021, depending on degree level.
