Stand Up for Justice in Your Neighborhood!
Posted on May 1
Do you want to make a difference in your community? Do you wish you had the power to affect change? Mark your calendars because the Lakeview Action Coalition’s Annual Action Assembly is in a few days, and your voice is needed! This is your chance to represent the issues you care about most and to collaborate with partner institutions to create a strong and powerful delegation!
Lakeview Action Coalition (LAC) is a non-profit, multi-issue community organization. The Coalition is comprised of 48 institutional members, including religious congregations, non-profit agencies, banks, business associations, a credit union, and a senior citizens caucus. These diverse institutions are stakeholders in the Chicago communities of Lakeview, Lincoln Park, and North Center. If you have a connection to these areas, your input and participation are invaluable to the success of the coalition!
On May 6th, LAC will be gathering to advance the issues of economic justice, affordable housing, health care, and homeless youth. At the Action Assembly, you will hear about LAC’s successes from the past year, and you will be a part of shaping the vision for the year to come. When else do you get to join forces with 700 people committed to justice, diversity, and local leadership? Take 90 minutes out of your Sunday afternoon, and make a real difference in your community!
In addition to the energy created by community members such as yourself, entertainment will be provided by the H.E.L.L.O. youth drummers and Broadway United Methodist Church's choir!
