Remembering Dennie Nadeau
Posted on February 20
We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of a former CWHC physician and collective member, Dennie Nadeau on February 4, 2013. Dennie was a wonderful mentor, colleague, and friend to those of us who were fortunate enough to share time and space with her at CWHC.
She was involved with CWHC from the late 1970’s until 1990. During that time she caught hundreds of babies through our Prenatal Program, cared for our clients with clarity, kindness, and good humor and was an exemplary and active collective member. She was passionate about making changes in women’s health care, and carried this into her relationships with clients and co-workers.
We all have our special memories of Dennie’s brilliance and dry wit. In the words of former collective member, Tanya Mchale, “May we all live life, love and make a difference in the way(s) Dennie Nadeau did.”
If you knew Dennie, please share your memories of her on our Facebook page:
In lieu of flowers, her family has asked that donations in her name be made to Chicago Women's Health Center, Physicians for a National Health Program (pnhp.org), Planned Parenthood (plannedparenthood.org), or Triangle Aphasia Project (aphasiaproject.org).
