Meet Jessica, CWHC's March Volunteer of the Month!
How long have you been volunteering at CWHC?
I started volunteering in January of 2012. Last summer, I became a phonester and have been answering phones Friday afternoons ever since.
What do you spend your time doing outside of CWHC?
I'm working toward my PhD in biology at Northwestern. I study reproductive biology at the molecular level. Outside of school, I play roller derby with the Windy City Rollers.
What is your favorite project that you've worked on here and why?
I've spent most of my time at CWHC as a phonester, which I absolutely love. It's so rewarding to be able to interact with clients. I'm passionate about accessibility to high-quality reproductive care, and it's great that I get to directly help clients receive that care.
What is your spirit animal?
Octopus, because they are smart and crazy looking.
What three words would you use to describe CWHC?
Compassionate, feminist, kickass
